About Nick

45 years of world-class tennis

Nine years playing on the ATP Tour, followed by 35 years as a high-performance coach. Nick has helped train over 50 players who went on to professional careers on the WTA and ATP tours — including Grand Slam winners, Olympic gold medalists, and world No. 1s in singles and doubles. The juniors he has worked with have won virtually every major junior event in the world.

That body of experience became The Saviano Method — a coaching methodology built on fundamental principles of life and tennis that transcend time, combined with the constantly evolving, cutting-edge changes to the game.

Nick has received numerous awards from the USOC, USTA, USPTA, Tennis Canada, the PTR, and many others.

As a graduate of two Ivy League schools, teaching surgery at Harvard Medical School, and a parent of five children in competitive sports, I have never seen a teacher as gifted as Nick Saviano. Our daughter's game and national ranking skyrocketed in just one year at SHPT — but more importantly, she learned to believe in herself and compete for every point.

Nick's promise

A letter from Nick

At SHPT, we provide outstanding coaching and training to players from around the world, using The Saviano Method as our cornerstone. We work with players at many stages of development — from young juniors and aspiring collegiate athletes to ATP and WTA professionals — in a safe and wholesome environment that personally addresses the needs, goals, and aspirations of each student.

I personally design and direct every aspect of our training program, and I am typically on court daily working with all of our players. Choosing SHPT is a choice to give your child the absolute best opportunity to improve their game, achieve their goals, and grow in principles of life success that will benefit them on and off the court for years to come.

The method, wherever you are

Every day at the academy, players work through not only the technique needed to hit a ball well, but the strategy and mindset needed to do it at the highest level, consistently.

Nick distilled that methodology into his book, Maximum Tennis, and into his online training platform — both available to players anywhere in the world.

Champions who trained with Nick

Sloane Stephens lifting the US Open trophy

What I loved most about working with Nick was his focus on me, as a person, rather than who I was on the tennis court.

I started working with Nick when I was 10 years old. He was my primary developmental coach, building my game and my confidence, and he has been part of my team at different times throughout my professional career. His approach focuses on every student finding what brings them joy while encouraging them to be the best version of themselves every day.

Genie Bouchard

Nick's methodology is truly a game-changer. I worked with him for most of my career and I know people will be amazed at how he can help them develop.
